Heart Shaped Prickly Pear
This prickly pear cactus has heart shaped pads. I believe it is a beavertail prickly pear (Opuntia basilaris) but I could be wrong. If I'm right, it will have some beautiful pink blooms one of these days.
This is different! My normal prickly pear is in fruit at the moment but I'm so fed up with getting the spines into my fingers that I've given up picking them so they rot on the plant. Even thick gloves don't help. Any ideas?

I think it also has those figs.... fruits which I really enjoy eating but, plucking them and cleaning them up is something very difficult to do....

very nice find! the heart shape is special
It's a valentine! Don't touch it though.
What a great photo. It highlights my relationship with Phoenix perfectly— although I love living here, it can be a bit prickly at times!
I would love to see this one bloom!
I have never seen an heart shaped Opuntia. Fantastic!
