Cucumberz is one of those places you have to go back to over and over again. They sell used furniture and other items many of which are antiques. However, Cucumberz is not one of those places with neatly displayed glass cases and furniture arranged into pleasant room settings. In fact, the inside of Cucumberz is an explosive riot of floor to ceiling disarrayed treasures. Some might say there is quite a lot of junk disguising the real “finds”. I might answer that what looks like junk to one person might be a cherished memento to another. Isn’t the most fun in shopping derived from uncovering that buried treasure?
If you are a local reader, I suggest you check it out. If you don’t find anything to buy, I guarantee you will see things that will stir up sweet memories and you will return from time to time to see what else has worked its way to the surface.

I hope no one stops their pickup truck on the side of the road and tosses some of the stuff in front of the store into the pickup and drives off.
Someone did that to my ex father-in-law when he was moving houses and they grabbed some duffel bags and drove off. When they later had a chance to see what was inside the the bags they had stolen, they would have found a very large set of home made plywood chess men for patio squares that were made with the design of an outdoor chess board. I'm sure the burglars made good use of those. Where could the sell a set of outdoor chess men? Perhaps to a place like Cucumberz.
I like places like that, we have one here called "Second Hand Man". It's like going through a deranged museum. I have found some treasures there as well.
I love this store. In fact I still have stuff that I bought their here in my home.
Your description makes me want to visit the place NOW! :-)
This is my favorite place to go to look for things to decorate my home on a budget. We just moved into a place with only 3 kitchen cabinets and need everything to create a kitchen storage area. We try to go every other week and always find the perfect thing. We just bought a hanging dollhouse and transformed it into our spice rack. It was an awesome find. And the banquet we bought to house our pots and pans was a steal for $50. I hate to tell others to go, because it's my secret place, but I guess I should share.....LOL.
