Chihuly.....again
I made one more visit to the Desert Botanical Gardens on Saturday morning. I wanted to see the “Chihuly: The Nature of Glass” in morning light and enjoy the show once more before the searing desert heat arrives.
This installation is called Blue Polyvitro Crystals and I hadn’t photographed it before. I was called in this direction by the sound of frogs and sure enough there were several frogs in this little oasis. In fact, if you look very closely in the left foreground of the large photo, you will see a frog sitting at the water’s edge.

At first glance, I thought they were blue plastic bags! We have so many plastic bags all over the place here - they haven't started their "Keep Saudi Arabia Clean" program here yet!!!
When I was at DBG a few weeks ago, some biology students from ASU had set up a microscope and were letting visitors look at tiny tadpoles and microscopic organisms from the pond. It was an aspect of DBG I had never seen before.
Were the frogs croaking "Chihuly. Chihuly."
I actually love the frog! Great angle on the crystals also! we just got back from Morocco late last night so I am starting to catch up on photos and comments. I also enjoyed your rose walk. I always find it amazing that we see such gorgeous roses in a desert environment.
Looks like big blue chunks of ice! I just love the frog, it's a beauty.
Quite different from his other, smoother works but they look perfect in that little stream. Like raw treasures waiting to be discovered.
Beautiful shot - and I'm pleased I could see the frog even without enlarging the photo. I guess I've got a few more years before I need to think about reading glasses!
