Today I feature a collage of some of the beautiful glass installations from the Chihuly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens that I described yesterday. They are spectacular. My next order of business is to get tickets to the exhibit during the day. I’m sure you will be seeing more photos of these works of art in the future. The Chihuly exhibit will be at the gardens until May 31, 2009. For more information click this

The upper left piece is similar to a chandelier hanging in the foyer of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. I watched Chihuly's minions assemble it from myriad huge boxes containing the varied sizes and shapes of glass that magically transformed into a huge chandelier. It was quite an experience that I shared with my grandson who was quite small at the time and quite fascinated with the whole process.
Oh wow, they're fabulous! It's kind of hard to believe that they're all made of glass. Fantastic!
I'd give my eye teeth, as they say, to see a Chihuly Exhibit in real life. I've seen so many films of his work on television and always so impressive, so amazing. Great you've had the opportunity. These are fabulous, Sharon.
That makes a very colorful collage.
I'm looking forward to seeing this.
What a wonderful opportunity. LOOK at those shots! Beautiful work, Sharon. Thanks for bringing the exhibit to all of us. I'm with Jilly about wanting to see a CHihuly show in person.
Looking forward to the Luminaria this next week.Your pictures are a great preview. The Chihuly pieces look beautiful at night.
Wow. I look forward to visiting the exhibit. Your photos are spectacular.
Love the photos, they remind me of the Belagio
I do love Chihuly glass!
BTW, aren't there carts peddling roasted chestnuts in NYC? I think so...
I love this blown glass so much. I have actually been to Chihuly's glass museum up in Tacoma where there is an entire room that is like a huge glass garden. These stunning creations are awesome. They photograph beautifully too.
