Lariat Cowboy
Located in a small plaza across the street from City Hall is this bronze sculpture called Lariat Cowboy. It was a gift to the city in 1934. The sculptor is Constance Whitney Warren.
Laurie, the artist did a lot of bronze statues very similar to this. One is on the grounds of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Steve, I'd say if the cowboy has been in control for 75 years, he's pretty safe. Marcinko, I certainly hope not!

Oh, how wonderfully Wild West! I wonder what else the artist did?
Go cowboy!
That was quite a gift. The cactus adds a bit of drama -- wondering it the cowboy can control his steed and not end up pricked.
Hang on, John McCain! I's a-comin!
