Sometimes the most mundane things can strike up a little spark in the right brain and cause you to react differently than you normally would. That’s what happened to me one day when I brought home the groceries and neatly placed the fresh fruit in a bowl that I keep on my kitchen counter. Looking at the bowl in front of me, I felt that little artistic flicker and the next thing I knew I was arranging the countertop for a photo shoot. So here for your viewing pleasure is my little work of art, “Still Life Composed in the Kitchen”. It’s not Matisse, but I enjoyed the moment and the result. The one on the left is my original photo. The arty one looks great.
Very creative. I like the impressionist version, although it omits seeing the cutlery held under the apron strings of the little chef, which I thought was a nice parallel to the cutlery in the photo. But since this is art, you have to be prepared for comments, as everyone becomes an art critic. Where are the grapes and bottle or glass of wine?
The second one looks like a painting. I like both of them. I'm still trying to get over the fact that you tipped over on a scooter on Lizard Head Pass! Glad you are okay. Not everyone is as lucky to make it out of an accident in the mountains without injury or worse.
This shot reminds me of a painting by my artist mom. It has half an avocado in the still life -- which looks kind of weird. The story is that she was painting the bowl of fruit and veggies when she was overwhelmed with an urge to eat the avocado. So, she ate half and painted the rest! :-)
Love both of these shots. And look, you have all the makings for guacamole!
Once I biggerised them I liked the right one better. Before that I thought there was something wrong with my glasses.

I really like that PhotoShop/GIMP filter. It's easy, but effective.
OOoohhh! You are a wiz with PhotoShop. I'm still SLOWLY learning to use it.
I love the blurry effect. It definitely looks like a painting.
