The Colorful Peacock

Something new on Roosevelt Row near downtown Phoenix.  A colorful mural by Phoenix artist Kayla Newman.

It covers the sides of a parking garage that used to be just plain white.

In fact, you've seen part of this garage before when I posted a photo of the big glass-box of a building in front of it.  That was back in July of last year.  Doesn't this liven up a rather plain looking garage?

Taking part in Monday Murals.

The building certainly looks so much better with the bright and cheerful mural around it.

How interesting. I photographed this mural this weekend. Your shots are wonderful. We seem to be looking at the same subjects. But not for long as we leave Phoenix this week. We should have stayed longer.

Very ordinary architecture — a parking garage — meets very imaginative artist and PRESTO — a great result.

Its definitely brightened the building up, and the colours all go together.

That's a big Wow. It was so vanilla before I wonder if they'd had complaints from people who hadn't found it. Hard to miss now.
