A Tree as Art

From a distance, this looks like a real tree but, it's not.  It sits along the side of the Symphony Hall building in downtown Phoenix.  I hadn't paid much attention to it until the time I walked along the sidewalk that runs right next to it.  It's not the usual approach I make when going to Symphony Hall.

There was no sign to say who the artist is but, I can tell you it's made of metal.  You probably figured that out already.

From a distance (the distance of a virtual photo) it appears not unlike one of those dried up dandelions which, when you blow on them, disappear into the wind. :) But you're saying it would probably not be smart to grab this thing and try to climb it. Right? :)

I have real trees make better art than that, could they not have done that instead of a fake tree

A deiicate dandelion seems to be the first image we associate with your photo today. Interesting it, isn't it, how captive we are to memories?

Interesting. I wonder if it serves some purpose, like concealing an external speaker or light fixture or something? (Although there appears to be a light fixture right next to it...)

A big dandelion was my first thought too.

That must be a bit of a shock to the birds that try to land on it.

I'm like everyone else who thought it was a dandelion! I guess a real tree wouldn't survive there!
