Men at Work

I spied three big broom lifts near a local office building so I drove in for a closer look.  They were working on the windows of the building and I'm not sure if it was just a wash job or something bigger.

They had an awful lot of things up there in the bucket with them.  By the way, that guy on the left has some kind of blue cloth over his head.  He's not really a "blue-man".

What I found really interesting were these covers on the tires of the lift.  I've never seen anything like them before and I'm not exactly sure what they are for.  Maybe it's just to keep the tires from leaving marks on the pavement.

Interesting series of photos. I wonder whet Blue Man and his friends were up to.

Looks like quite a precise operation! What fun to watch.

I've never seen covers like that either! How weird. I would guess the same -- that they protect the curbs from black marks.

A job shared is a job done much speedier ☺ wonder if the blue cover is 'extreme' protection from the sun?

Lots of machine and man power needed for this job! I would say your guess about the tire covers is spot on!

Looks like a hot job. Best to get it done before the temps climb.

I suspect you're right about the tire covers.

That would be a safe way to clean windows but probably also really expensive!

You captured some great images. Blue man was probably protecting himself from the sun. Never heard of tire coverings before. Maybe the tar gets soft in the heat. I remember that it always felt softer in the hottest part of the day.

I'd guess someone is in charge of coordinating this operation so that the boom lifts don't crash into each and go boom! It doesn't look too dangerous so long as you don't try to climb out and hang on the edge of one of these things while washing the window with one hand. Very cool post, Sharon!

These things fascinate me. I know they are carefully engineered but they also look dangerous. Striking color and geometry.

This definitely a unique post with some mysterious elements!
