First Friday Event

I got an email from the Phoenix Art Museum listing several things they had going on for their First Friday Artwalk event last Friday.  One of the things mentioned was a performance by a group called Vessel who are a dance/performance art group.  I hadn't been to a First Friday event in a while so I decided to go.  These ladies are from the performance art group.  They were wearing lighted costumes and they were using hand-held devices to project small videos on to their costumes as they walked.  You can see something projected on to the bodice of the lady above's dress.

This one projected her video on to the floor in front of her.

And, this one is projecting on to the shawl over her arm.

It's one of those performance art pieces that is impossible to explain to anyone.  You just have to observe and enjoy when you see it.

I would enjoy this just because ,,, well, never mind, but I do enjoy looking at beautiful women. :) At first I thought the women were mannequins.

Those dresses don't look entirely comfortable.

How fun! I love your pictures, but I would also enjoy seeing this in person.

I know exactly what you mean Sharon, some events just have to be experienced, especially those involving lights! This looks like it would have been tres interesting to see, were you happy you went?

This kind of performance becomes a photographer's dream!

They look like they move quite elegantly. When I saw the photos before reading your explanation, I was torn between thinking they were mannequins and thinking they were real women striking poses.
