Dinner in the Garden

My good friend Julie (remember her from Scottsdale Daily Photo) invited me to attend the annual fundraiser dinner for the Desert Botanical Garden with her and her mother Glenda on Saturday night.  It turned out to be a fabulous event even if the weather was little less than perfect.

As we arrived, there was a light sprinkling of rain and a lot of wind and dark skies but, fortunately it never turned into a messy storm.

This lady was posing near the entrance and she blended in nicely with that backdrop.

The piano player was safely tucked under a cover just in case those dark clouds opened up.

And, then there was a surprise "after party" with a great band called The Rave.  They played a lot of music from the 60's and 70's which had my toes tapping right along.

Thanks again Julie!  It was a totally fun evening.

Looks like The Rave had a British theme? :)

I'm jealous! I wish I could have been there, but barring that I must say I've enjoyed your photos very much and I especially liked the girl posing and that piano player! Well, the band sounds pretty good, too. I guess I liked everything a lot! :)

It must have been a wonderful event! I particularly enjoy the first photograph--so clever. When David S was still blogging occasionally he would refer to Glenda and her little dog. I hope both area well and enjoying life. Please greet Glenda (and julie and David, too) for me.

It looks like a fine event. I am jealous that you got to take the photo of that artist against the colorful background. Love it! (Hi to Julie and Dave.)
