The Cactus & Succulent Society Show

One of the events that was going on Friday at the Desert Botanical Garden was the Cactus & Succulent Society's Show and Sale.  And, it was drawing quite a large turn-out.

I wandered into the hall where plants were on display and people were actually voting for their favorites.

This one impressed me. That is a lot of cactus growing out of that small bowl.

The room had tables filled with all kinds of beautifully potted and displayed plants.  Some I recognized and some were strange to me.

Here is a perfect example.  I have no idea what kind of plant this is but, it is certainly unusual and unique.    Outside the hall there were tents set up with plants for sale and there was a very large line of people waiting to check out.  They were certainly doing a brisk business.

I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today.  I'm visiting a perfect place for star gazing.

I am all for the succulents!

Cacti are probably the only plants I could reasonably not end up destroying! I can see the appeal of that first one.

There must be so many varieties in Arizona! And the first one is totally amazing!

I'm having a prickly feeling after reading your post.

I wonder what it takes to be a championship cactus or succulent? I do love that unusual second plant...but I feel certain it would not like England. :)

This show would definitely interest me. Unusual shapes and forms in a small space!
