Optical Illusion

It appears as though the foot bridge over Tempe Town Lake is under water on one end but, never fear, it's just and optical illusion.  You see, there is a negative edge water feature in the foreground.  It's part of the decor around the Tempe Center for the Arts.

You can see from this photo that the bridge is completely safe!

Great looking bridge. They have Hawhaw's in the UK which is like the water feature you showed only on dry land

Thanks for explaining. I thought the bridge had collapsed.

What a superb photo! And a very cool bridge. The bridge did not exist when we lived in Tempe/Scottsdale. I do remember a 9-hole golf course in Tempe, though, which we played at night because it had lights. I can still hear my ball bouncing off the rocks in the desert darkness!

I saw you had a shooting also. It's all so sad. And with the children we have running the country, that number of guns available to shoot other people will only increase.

It did look that way. A beautifully designed bridge!

I remember the days when the Salt River was dry as a bone until it flooded. Looks very nice now. I'll have to go take a look.

An unusual but very attractive design.

Great photo Sharon! It is a beautiful bridge. The last time I was in Tempe was to watch my daughter perform in the FSU band halftime show in the Fiesta Bowl years ago. That was before the lake was there. I would love to go back and see it now.

This is a lovely bridge. I will have to take your word for it that the bridge is not ending under water.

Wonderful 'wave-like' design Sharon, perfect over water like this!
