Golden Barrel Cactus Cluster

I found this cluster of golden barrel cactus in downtown Scottsdale along the sidewalk in old town.  Golden barrel cactus are endangered in the wild but, they are sought after for landscaping and can be found in many nurseries.  Every now and then I find one that is clustered like this one.

Looks like a prickly space alien.

I can see why they would be popular for landscaping Sharon, these clusters make quite a statement don't they.

Sharon, you are very adept at photographing the cacti in your environment. PS. I think I am getting "my groove back" and will be posting and commenting again more regularly. Thanks for all you faithful visits!
