I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing...

...In Perfect Harmony

Remember that jingle?  If not, check out the link.  That's what popped into my head when I saw this shiny new Coca-Cola delivery truck parked outside a grocery store.  There is no missing this bright red truck, that's for sure.

It wasn't long after I saw that truck that I spotted these dusty coke bottles.  I don't know about where you live but, here in Arizona you don't see bottled Coca-Cola for sale in six-packs like this any longer.  We do however see bottles of Coca-Cola in some restaurants that have been imported from Mexico.  People here like to drink them because they are still made with real sugar and not the high-fructose corn syrup used in the U.S.

Back in the 50's I grew up on Cokes. It was part of my diet. Those were days when there were no do-gooders telling us what to eat and drink. There is a difference between the taste of Canadian Coke and American Coke. In fact I switch over to Pepsi when traveling in the USA.

I believe the coke here in Germany is also made with real sugar. I think it tastes better, though I only drink coke every once in awhile.

That IS a nice-looking truck.

I'm not a Coke drinker anymore, but I remember collecting those money-back bottles from the side of the road as a kid and turning them in for spare change. (Which I would then spend on a Coke, completing the cycle!)

That truck looks so neat! We can get bottled Coca-Cola here. Interesting about the sugar content you mention. Will have to have a look at the bottles here :).

Such a recognisable label Sharon, can't imagine there would be many places that don't know that sign. I don't drink any fizzy drinks but P and Aimee love Coke Zero!

I am a hard-core Coke drinker and LOVE the coke here in México! All in bottle and made with cane sugar.

They sell bottled Coke in Texas and they're not from Mexico. They're also much more expensive than the plastic bottles!

We've got the plastic bottle six packs here, usually about 700ml of it. And then of course the individual bottles, though the amount in them tends to be less.

We see these bottles from time to time...

I don't... :-(

Good-looking truck. Love all that red. I didn't know about the different sweeteners used in coke. The best thing I've heard is to stay away from it entirely but I still drink the diet decaf stuff. :)

I can buy Mexican Coca-Cola (notice how I carefully didn't say coke) at my local Costco store. I don't but I could. I drank a lot of it when we lived in Mexico.

Oh yes I do. My summer job when I was in law school was as a vacation replacement driver for the Coke plant in Patterson, N.J. Now I think the stuff is semi-evil.

They give the Dentists plenty of work to do and Hygenists. I drink it occasionally but am glad to say I never gave it to my kids when they were young like you see other parents doing.

I had to come back with another comment. I had an aunt who throughout her adult life never drank anything liquid other than Coke and milk - no water, no fruit juices, no alcohol, just Coke and milk. For many years she had leased or possibly bought one of those red chest-type coolers which were plentiful in the '50s from the Coca-Cola company on the back patio and the driver from the local bottling plant came once a week. She was one of his regular customers, just like the local groceries and gas stations. She has been dead for years - but not from her Coke-drinking habits! She had emphysema. I am a Coke drinker and I drink probably one a day. Times past it was more than that but today I try to curb my urges!

I am an unrepentant Coke drinker...

This is one fine red truck. Good thing they aren't relying on me for profitability. I doubt I have more than three Cokes in a typical year.
