White Umbrellas

While I was in Scottsdale on Saturday, I stopped in to the Scottsdale Center for the Arts to renew my membership.  That's when I noticed the addition of these white umbrellas suspended from the ceiling.

I had a great time photographing them from different angles and directions.  I loved the white on white effect in the top photo and when taken from a distance how the white background becomes grey.

I might have to play around with these photos and add bits of my own color and shape to them.

They look very artistic and beautiful against the gray.

I love brollies like this and once had a couple as light shades. Problem was all the dead bugs that collected in them.
Great pic.

Looks so good all the one colour Sharon, can't wait to see how you 'play' with this one!

Nicely done, Sharon. This is one art installation I really like. And that 2nd shot where you darkened the ceiling really sets the umbrellas off well!

Very cool! Last summer several cities in Portugal had similar installations with bright colour umbrellas on the streets to give some shade. It was quite a sight.

And white is not always easy to take pictures of, you did such a good job.

That's pretty! Mary Poppins revisited! I like this as much as the cars on the Seattle Art Museum ceiling!
