Theme Day: Bicycle

I've posted many photos of bicycles on this blog so you would think this would have been an easy one for me.  But, I could never find a shot that stood up to my all time favorite one here.  So, yesterday I was on a mission to get an interesting bicycle shot.  I was driving down the street when I saw this gentleman waiting at a bus stop.  I quickly pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store right next to the bus stop, rolled down the window and waited for the bus I had just passed to stop here.

It stopped, the man put his bicycle onto the bike rack and climbed aboard.  The bus driver appears to be looking right at me.  Probably wondering if I had this guy under surveillance for some reason.
So here's my contribution to the theme.  Compatible transportation modes in the city of Phoenix,

I like it, saves wear and tear on his bicycle I suppose, and is a lot less energetic ;-)

It's cool that they have bike racks on the buses. In London people just bring their bikes aboard, at least if there's space.

With August temps, the air conditioned buses probably provide some relief to bicyclists

The colors make this one for me.

The bus is quite colourful. We have the same apparatus here on buses for bicyclists who want a lift.

Good one! I didn't know they had those racks on the Phoenix city bus. What a good idea.

We have those here too. I figure it would take me about 10 minutes to get my bike positioned properly and would probably put the whole bus schedule way behind!

I understand your affection for the other shot (great, by the way), but also this one is very good and 'tells a story'!

That is so cool and something we don't have here at all...

Oh well spotted Sharon, I agree with Birdman the colours are fab.. almost but not quite as colourful as your favourite bike shot! Have enjoyed looking back to see what you've been up to Sharon, I have missed our little community :)
If you Google 'bus accident Perth 14th July' the young woman was my nephew's wife, unbelievable that something so tragically random could happen.

You were caught in the act! Love that people can do this in Phoenix. Some of the buses in Berlin also offer this option and you can take your bike with you on the subways (but you have to buy a ticket for the bike).

That is how I would hope that transport modes would work. We do not have that facility here in Sydney, more's the pity.

I do like the colour scheme of that bus-line.

I really do like the idea of this bike rack on the bus. Nothing like that here in Coventry. Enjoyed the story behind the shot too!

So many cities are getting smarter and more accommodating for cyclists. Two forms of transportation, important for many people.
