Gates!

I took a little drive around the neighborhood just to the east of where I live and noticed an abundance of gates.  Many of the houses in this area have gates on the properties.  The one above is surrounded by a garden of flowering plants.

The one to the left has a pretty design.

And, the one above looks like it could use a new paint job.  It made me wonder how that door on the right got so dirty.  It does look like it might be pushed open by a shoe quite often but, the dirt goes all the way to the top.  It's a mystery.

I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today.  I'm highlighting one of the places I visited in Tucson a week ago.

Nice gates, the dirty one at the bottom is rather odd!

Must be a ritzy neighborhood - a real "gated" community. It's all quite beautiful!

It looks like someone pressure-washed the left-hand side but hasn't done the right side yet....?

Curious and curiouser Sharon :) how very odd that only one side of the gate is grubby! Love the gate engulfed in garden.

Every single house in Portugal has an iron gate, maybe that's why my favourite is the one at the bottom.

Each one puts its individual mark on the property.

Three very different styles but all attractive.

Certainly not the gates of Hades. Nice.

Three different approaches to gates.

I absolutely love wrought iron gates and fencing. I saw a wonderful old gate in my travels recently in a junk store and I've decided that when I return to Phoenix I will have a beautiful gate somewhere in a flower garden where I live. I would have bought the one I saw but moving it might be a problem, so I'll just have to go searching for one when I get there.

The dirty gate was left open for some time dust and rain caused it to become very dirty.
