Basking in the sun

It's certainly too hot for me to be basking in the sun right now but these guys seem to be built for the heat.  They've been out and about looking for some tasty insects to gobble up.

Is that a smile I see on his face?

I've noted your temps because a friend of ours is in Phoenix at this moment. I thought it was hot here, but you get first prize. Cute little critters and great shots!

Great details in these two shots! I saw a similar little lizard earlier today- a street fair going on had a reptile farm on site, though I didn't have my camera. They had a little lizard and a fellow handling a python.

One of our lizards caught an insect of some kind yesterday while I was watching him through the window. For a critter that sits so still, he can move with the speed of light when he wants to.

You can almost feel how scaly they must be!

That first one is terrific, Sharon.

When looked at closely, it is so interesting that there are so many hues and colors on the body of these animals.

Thank goodness we have these creatures to keep the bug population down.
