Super Bowl Madness

Super Bowl madness has hit the Phoenix area and our downtown is decked out with all the money making schemes it can pack into one small location.  I haven't been down there this week but last week when I took these photos, it was already a mess trying to get around.

Street closures have led to virtual gridlock in many locations.  If you are headed downtown this week, think about taking the light rail.  If it doesn't save you time, I'm sure it will save you frustration not to mention money for parking.

Sounds like you're in for a very chaotic time!

Who is playing who, and which team will win it?

As I've gotten older, I care less about such things as Super Bowls. Isn't there a crazy golf tournament in Phoenix/Scottsdale this week, too? The Waste Management event?

Busy time for Phoenicians.

We've got an LPGA event - the first of their season - here in Ocala. How 'bout that? I've applied for a press pass but doubt I'll get it. Going to attend on Friday, though, but no cameras are allowed for "normal" folks. Bummer.

BTW, it's the Coates Championship and is played at Golden Ocala, a very fancy upscale course (private). And it will be on the Golf Channel , from 5 to 7 (EST) today.

Oh yes, public transport is definitely the way to go when there is a big event on Sharon.

Big events - big traffic...

Not a good time to be out and about in the Phoenix area.

Hopefully no grid-lock in front of my TV Sunday. What a mess. Worth the $$$$$$$?

I feel bad for Brian and Jake. It's going to be crazy.
I think one team is the Seattle Sea hawks. I only know that because Susie posted her excitement on FB.

Oh, and yes that is Granite Dells. The trail is on the other side of the lake from where you and I went.

Gridlock indeed. To be honest, I've never gotten football as a sport, either the American or Canadian versions.

I wouldn't like to live in a city hosting the Superbowl at this time of year. Hope it doesn't cause you too much stress!

It would be the frustration that would get to me!

Thankfully, I'm not going downtown! But I'm stuck in traffic jams every day so I feel for you!

I would be tempted to stay home all week, but I guess that's not practical. Years ago when my daughter was in her college marching band at FSU, I attended the Fiesta Bowl to watch her perform at Sun Devil Stadium. I imagine the crowds for the Super Bowl would be much bigger though!
