That elusive cardinal

Since I was on the subject of birds yesterday, look who else I saw on Friday.  That very elusive cardinal who hangs out at the garden.  I snapped this shot as soon as I saw him and then went to move a little closer and off he flew.

They are such beautiful birds. That also includes the female.

Always nice against the blue sky.

A lovely shot. The bird looks a bit bedraggled, though, like he got blown around in the wind a bit. We've to a lot of cardinals in the bush outside of our kitchen window. Hard to get a good photo of them, though.

I only ever saw one cardinal in my whole life, somewhere on the Potomac near Washington, D.C. and I think I have a blurred picture of a red spot in the trees! :-) You caught it so well!

They are fun to see and rare around here.

Well done on catching him Sharon, the little birds are the hardest, they're so darn zippy!

Am I the only one who sees two birds?
Ok, the red cardinal is very eye-catching.

They are so difficult to catch! You can hear them singing in the trees but to get a pic is so difficult. You did well, Sharon.

My favorite bird that sticks around all winter to delight us. Your composition is terrific.
