Red Beauty

I visited the botanical garden six times over the past week to get some photos of the Chihuly exhibit being dismantled but, I didn't spend all my time watching workmen handle the glass.  I just checked the total number of photos I have for all those visits and it comes to 476 and that doesn't count the 120 or so that I deleted.  As always, there was plenty to see and to photograph.

Take for example the photo above.  While I walking in the herb garden area, a nice man told me he found a gorgeous red flower hiding behind some other plants making it barely visible.  He gave me directions to where he saw it and this is what I found.  It really is a beautiful flower.  There was no sign to tell me what type of flower it is; I just know I'm glad I saw it.  A special thanks to that nice man for pointing me in the right direction.

Remember the June theme is "Zest".

UPDATE:  I can't believe I found this flower by doing a Google search but, I did.  It's called an Equestrian Starflower (Hippeastrum equestre).  You've gotta love Google!

I'm sure someone will identify this beauty - I'll have to check back, Sharon!

I do believe we have these here in Ocala but I'm not sure of the name, either. You did take a lot of photos! Wow! This one is especially beautiful!

Sharon, that is just about as pretty a flower as I have ever seen. It looks like someone took an Easter lily and hand painted it.
