Heirloom Tomatoes

I realized yesterday morning that I hadn't been to the Farmer's Market in several weeks so it was about time for a visit.  I ended up coming home with tomatoes, lots of tomatoes.  I talked to one vendor who had several different types and she offered me a basket for $4.00 and I could put in a little of each kind to try them.  I had some for lunch and dinner and I still have more to try.

These red onions were looking good but, I already had some so I passed on these.

I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today.  I'm featuring the town that invented Grappa.

I am salivating! Yesterday, I, too, went to the market to get red hanging geraniums for our front steps, a flat of red geraniums for pots for our backyard plus herbs and teeny, tiny tomato plants for my daughter and me. Ha! And then I see the tomato harvest on your blog. Too amusing when I consider the time lapse between your delightful purchases and our plants. PS. DH and I decided definitely to visit Seattle later this summer. Did I tell you how much I love your photo yesterday?

It really is hard not to get too carried away when everything looks so tempting Sharon, you did well to make it home with just the tomatoes :)

Amazing sights. I love to photograph vegetables. Especially such colorful ones.

At $6 a pound, I'd say a basket for $4 was a bargain. Which market do you go to? The one downtown? I always went to the one at Roadrunner Park and still go there when I visit since my daughter lives nearby. I have seven tomato plants but they are just now putting on blooms. Can't wait!
