Don't disturb the king

I made a trip to the Phoenix Zoo yesterday and I must have hit it at the wrong time.  Everyone was asleep!

The Lion!

The Tiger!

The Bobcat!

Reminds me of a famous English cricketer who was known as The Cat; not because of his speed and agility but because he was usually asleep!

Ah but they are beautiful when asleep!

I'm sure that the zoo is different now than when I visited it in the '60's. I have a sweet photo of a giraffe and me during that visit, so long ago. Your photo of the King of the Beasts is wonderful; both strong pictures of beautiful cats

That has happened to me, too. Although I think it was mostly cats...they sleep a lot. Heck out little kitties sleep 16 hours a day, I think.

Cute pictures. Don't try to pet these guys, though.

Be aware. The Lion can't trust his teeth!

These big cats know the value of a good nap!

I don't think I have ever been to the zoo when the big cats weren't asleep. At least they were still enough to get good pictures!

Love, love, love the big cats, don't they look so 'safe' when asleep :)

Nice shots, bet they are dreaming that they are running wild.
