Drying off


While I was at the Japanese Friendship Garden last Friday, I saw two cormorants perched around the lake.  While I was watching them, this one started his drying ritual making a perfect opportunity for me to snap a few pictures.  He was very obliging.

That is one superb photograph! The detail is very sharp and the colors zing. We have more anhingas here than cormorants, but they look alike and behave much the same way.

This is a pose that Cormorants must enjoy. I have seen them doing this many times. Nice capture!
