Farm House

When I was living in Mesa, I used to drive by this house often sometimes going out of my way just to get a peek at it.  It sits about one lot away from a very busy street and it's right in the heart of a modern subdivision with lots of low slung ranch style homes all around it.  My guess is that this was  a farm house when the land around here was all farming and citrus groves and the neighborhood has grown up around it.  I took this photo several years ago on a winter day.  The photo below was taken just recently and you can see how that tree fills out in the summer time.

I'm not sure what about this place makes me stop and look but I do every time I find myself in Mesa.  In fact, I've never driven by my old house since I moved to Phoenix but I'll go out of my way to drive by this one.

It's is quite charming, summer, spring, winter or fall. Maybe you lived here in a previous life? ;)

I used to work in Mesa. I'll bet it's changed a bit.

I can definitely see the appeal, this is a beautiful home Sharon. It has a timeless appeal, I can see it just as well in its rural setting as now in its suburban surrounds, the tree is as fabulous as the house. I would definitely stop for a peek each time I passed.

This is definitely different than the typical suburban Arizona house.

Yes, the farm is gone but the house still stands. This house has a lot of character. So many of the newer ones look all the same.

It is quite lovely - I really like the entranceway with its own little roof. Nice atmosphere.

I know that I would prefer this house to those you describe that surround it. It is definitely unique and charming

Hi Sharon: This is in re your comment on Ocala - I think that Sea Hunt was filmed partly in California and other places, also. But they did a number of scenes at Silver Springs and it was rather fun to see the "diving" set still in place after all these years! :)

That's a lovely home. How about knocking on the door some time, Sharon. I'd love to see the inside!
