Weekend Adventures

I've had a busy weekend already.  On Friday I took a drive about 80 miles (140K) north of Phoenix to visit a place called "Out of Africa" a wild animal park.  While I was there, I had a close encounter with a very friendly giraffe.

See what I mean...

Did you feed him carrots? They have long black tongues to scoop them out of your hand.

Wonderful! I don't recognize those patterns. Wonder from which part of Africa your new friend is.

The sky and valley provides a great backdrop for your photo.

I will have to stop there next time I am headed down to the valley.

Haha! What a fabulous shot Sharon, the only way he could have gotten any closes would have been to slurp the lens :)As Dave pointed out the backdrop is pretty spectacular.
p.s. if you check out Aimee's blog Midnight Pie (down my sidebar) she posted the recipe for the scrumptious 'roasted red pepper risotto' believe me it was mega yum!

My daughter Susie goes absolutely nuts about giraffes. I keep expecting to hear that she has bought one for her farm. Did you notice that giraffe tongues are blue?
