Starling

I wasn't sure what kind of bird this was so I had to do a little research.  It turns out it's a common starling (also know as a European starling).  It gets those white spots during the winter months.  I love the iridescence of his feathers.

I like the way the bird has cocked its head for you, a real poser. Great shot!

Nice shot of him. this is a better one than in my bird book. They are noisy when they get together. I have noticed that when they come around our place, there are always some meadow larks with them.

i love the iridescence, too. it's such a common bird that often its remarkable beauty is overlooked.
