In focus...Out of focus

These two butterflies were sitting on the same plant in different locations.  Since I was using a telephoto lens, I could only get one in focus at a time.  I think it makes and interesting shot this way.

I really like the marbled background to highlight the butterfly's lines and colors.

I agree Sharon, the contrast between the pair of butterflies and the blurred background make a marvelous image.

i just learned about a new butterfly park this week but I have forgotten the details. Bit daft of me as I know you would be interested.

I agree with you. This effect focuses your viewers on the top butterfly instead of having us bounce from one to another and back again.

It is a gorgeous shot! Isn't it amazing how close things can be but not fall into the same focus area? I said that weird, but I'm sure you've figured out I say a lot of things weird by now and understand me completely. :)
