Main Street

When I was out taking photos on rainy July 4th, I stopped on Main Street in old town Scottsdale to peek in the gallery windows.  I didn't have to cup my hands to the glass to see this work by artist Ed Mell.  It's called "Jack Knife" and it sits in the middle of an intersection right on Main Street.

Ride 'em cowboy! That's a very dynamic sculpture, lots of energy.

Great name for a great iconic sculpture. I don't think I would recognize Scottsdale any more. When we lived there it consisted of a few shops and one movie theater on a two-lane main street.

Re your comment on Ocala: On Top of the World is used metaphorically, I think. I mean where else can you feel like you're on top of the world than in one of these communities for old folks? :-)

Looks like Jackknife would be good for some points at a rodeo...if you could stay on.

A strong sculpture with great action. It works nicely as the focus for this section.

Enjoy your weekend, Sharon.
