Leap'n Lizards

When I did my walk around the Desert Botanical Garden on Saturday, the other thing I saw an abundance of was lizards, many, many lizards.  Pictured here are a couple of Collard Lizards and a couple of Desert Spiny Lizards.  I especially loved the one climbing the chicken wire that was placed around a plant.  Every time I encountered one, they raised themselves up on their front legs and checked me out as a possible danger.  I must have passed inspection because they didn't bother to run off.

Looks like life is good for a lizard at the DBG. They all look nice and fat.

I agree with you. The lizard climbing the chicken wire is very unusual.

Such funny little creatures when they push up on their front legs, they're a bit like alligators and crocodiles almost prehistoric looking. Beautifully captured here Sharon.

Great shots! I thought they were in a zoo at first.

Individual creatures but still so similar! Glag that you had company on your walk!

I've never seen one climbing a fence like that. When we lived in Mexico, there would usually be a gecko in our bedroom. Fortunately he stayed at ceiling level and didn't come down to share our bed!

These are different than our little lizards. Did you see an gila monsters?

I'm also thinking that you have a way with the critters in your world.

He's quite the little climber.

As Lowell commented on the previous post, you must have a thing with animals. I would like to walk in the Desert Gardens too. Great mosaic!
