Illegal Activity

The Saguaro Cactus is a protected plant in Arizona.  The statute states that "it is unlawful for any person to destroy, dig up, mutilate, collect, cut, harvest or take any living highly safeguarded native plant...".  Obviously, the people using this one for target practice, didn't get the message.  I remember many years ago when a man was using a saguaro for target practice and it toppled over and fell on him killing him.  Mother nature sometimes loses her sense of humor.

I remember that too. I think everyone felt he got what he deserved.

Just a bit more evidence that while we've evolved physically we haven't evolved much emotionally!

People do dumb things. Sad to see this cactus with bullet wounds. I hope it can heal and survive.

Ouch I bet that hurt! Not a very dignified way to go..'death by cactus'!

I person that malicious should not be allowed to shoot a gun. If he will mutilate protected plants, he would likely be senselessly destructive of animals as well.

That's too bad.

But you're right - Mother Nature has her own brand of "justice," I guess.
