Pictures from Phoenix and sometimes from the surrounding cities that make up the "Valley of the Sun"
Oh, my,what a shot!
I have never seen this either -- until your photo.
You have an amazing capture there!
That is just fantastic! Great shot!
Aw...looks like a mini version of a "real" bird. ;-)Nice photo! I've not seen anything like this at all. I've always thought hummingbirds were always winging it.
I have seen a hummer on the edge of my bird bath, but never actually bathing. Too cool! I was amazed at how it could stand there...it didn't have a branch to hold on to. It's little feet were out flat.
I love it Sharon, such a sweet little bird, with a very long beak!
Did he sing in the shower, and get all the soap from under his wings? Nice shot. You had to be quick!
This is amazing! I've never seen one stopped.
Oh, this is really too cute! I don't imagine he stayed there too long.
I just read the book "The Big Year". Amazing how the hummingbirds fly from the Yucatan in Mexico 500 miles across the Gulf in a single nite. The movie was pretty good too. Makes you want to be a birder. My guess is that's a Black Chinned Hummingbird. But, I'm no real birder.
It is fairly rare to see one at rest at all. Though we did see them stop for awhile after spending all day at our feeder in Phoenix way back when. I wonder if they sleep.
Cute little bather.
Oh it is so special!
...WINE: Whatever was left in your glass!I like this part :-)
Absolutely new for me, what a shot!
That's a great capture!
Oh, great catch! I don't think I have ever seen that either.
I have never seen a hummingbird at rest. This definitely is a "wow" moment and photo! On a road trip and finally am in a place with wifi, so I am temporary back to enjoy your blog!!
I'm in awe at your hummingbird shots, Sharon! I think it's the first time I see one bathing. Fantastic!
What a fantastic shot. I love it!
