Headed downtown

If you are headed into downtown Phoenix from the south, you have to pass under the railroad tracks through this old viaduct.  These days, Central Avenue is a one way street in the downtown area.  Years ago this was a two-way street with a little tunnel for each lane of traffic.

The palm trees make it an inviting entrance to this viaduct

This is a great shot going into downtown. Just two questions, what are you doing in the middle of the street and where is all the traffic?

Yes Sharon, how did you get this shot? Neat photo. Be fun to see the before shot.

Your sister has asked two excellent questions.

There would be a lot more traffic in the middle of Central Ave. looking at downtown from the north.

I miss palm trees. Minus the pigeons.

You must have taken this on a weekend morning. I find the best time to get these type of shots.

Lots of questions asked about this shot. I did take it on a weekend morning and I did stand in the middle of the street. Central avenue just south of downtown is surprisingly quiet on a Sunday morning.

Haha! that's one of the good things about coming in late, you find out all the answers, because you know I would've asked that very same question Sharon!! Gosh it's now a very wide one way avenue!!

Nice perspective here. You lead the eye right to the entrance of the tunnel and thus raise the question as to what's beyond the tunnel! :-)

One way streets seem to be becoming more prevalent lately in many cities.

The tall palm trees add so much to the cool perspective.
