Opening Day....

This weekend, the Tovrea Castle opens to the public for tours.  This morning a few of us took the Mayor of Phoenix there to see the displays and learn how our tours are going to work.  On Saturday and Sunday, I'll be playing the role of tour guide for the scheduled tours.
A lot of hard work went into getting this ready for the public and the big day has finally arrived.  If you live in the Phoenix area, you can schedule a tour by clicking here.

That would be a nice tour. I would want to shoot some photos from the top floor. Well not of the airport.

We wish you the best of everything...I'm sure it will go well with all of your dedicated preparation. I'd be there if we were in Phoenix!

Thanx for the comment on Fahrenheit 451. We do have a lot in common - that's one of my favorite books and movies, too. Funny that you saw the movie again just recently.

I must make plans to see this place. I had never heard of it until you posted it on your blog a while back.

You're right a lot of work and love has gone into this project. Now should I say, "Break a leg"? Have fun!

I am really excited to take the tour. I have passed be many many times and wondered what it would be like inside. Good for all the hard work of the volunteers!

Congratulations to you and your friends, Sharon. Restoring this building and opening it to tours are great services to your community.

Of course I know that Arizona has oodles of cacti, but when I enlarged the photo and saw how the building was ringed by scores of tall, old cacti, I was still taken aback.

Congratulations, restoration is a long and tedious process, looks like you all did a beautiful job. I will definitely put this on my places to visit when in Phoenix. Thanks for the education.
