Desert Jewel Gypsy Horses

Another horse group I encountered at the Fiesta Bowl Parade staging area was a group called the Desert Jewel Gypsy Horses.  I was told the breed is called Gypsy Vanner and it originates from the U.K. and Ireland.
The horse is distinguished by it's heavy build and abundant feathering on the lower legs.  I think they are quite beautiful.

Definitely gorgeous. I am a stranger to this breed. I'll bet they take a lot of grooming.

Beautiful looking animals, love the black and whote markings on the top horse. They look in perfect condition Sharon.

They are indeed gorgeous. Look a bit like smaller versions of the Budweiser horses. I wonder if they'd let you ride one if you asked...

What a pretty breed. I haven't heard of them before. They remind me of Clydesdales.

In the UK we call these "heavy horses". At one time they were used much for pulling brewery drays.

They look like a small version of a draft horse, and yes, they are beautiful... I wouldn't want to comb out all that hair though!

Wow, what a pair of beauties!

One of my favorite breeds, although I have never owned one. They always seem so quiet, and they are always so, so beautiful!
