Out of Season

While I was at Tovrea Castle last Thursday, I saw this cactus with a gorgeous bloom.  It's not exactly the right time of year for it to be blooming but, it had two more buds that were going to pop out in the next day or two.  The cactus might be a little mixed up but, it was a pleasant sight nonetheless.

Gorgeous bloom indeed and certainly unusual for the season.

It's certainly cheery looking. Is this one of the blooms that only lasts one day?

Beautiful and all the more so because it comes at such an unusual time!

I hope the flowers are not damaged by the cold weather this week.

I think plants all over the world are mixed up by the weather lately Sharon, so good that you get to snap this exotic flower!

What a great find for this time of year--it's certainly not a poinsettia

I still remember my first winter/spring in Arizona...could not believe how the desert bloomed. This is gorgeous!

Well it is in Phoenix, can't it bloom all year round. How delightful to find a bloom in December.

Gorgeous! I don't know if it's the case in Arizona, but I think some flora might be a bit confused with the climate changes...
