Lake Wildlife

A large variety of wild birds have taken up residence along Tempe Town Lake.  I found this beautiful white heron sunning on a barricade at the end of the lake.

This is really a beautiful heron, a pity that he has only one leg ;)

He looks so clean and white Sharon, nice reflections too. I think he might be doing that thing they do when they pull one leg up into their feathers to keep warm, do you think!!

We have returned from my son's wedding in the Caribbean, and I am just now catching up with your recent posts. Julie and I have not made it down to the new bridge at Tempe Town Lake, and I have enjoyed your series to show us what we have missed.

Until I really studied that photo and finally saw the incline of the top part of the barricade, I was confounded. Nice pic.
