Camouflage

This little hummingbird was well hidden within the plants but I could hear the humming of his wings and turned to capture the shot just in time.  I wouldn't think there was much nectar in that Baja Fairy Duster blooms but they do attract the hummingbirds and they certainly know best.

Great catch, Sharon. You were able to focus very fast it appears.

Maxing the photo gives a great view of this determined little bird. Not many in my yard which is filled with goldfinches and I would love to attract them.

Sheeeeesh! Another bird shot. Three in a row that I've seen this AM. Did I miss the memo?

Great catch. In KC we only see hummingbirds in August.

"Baja Fairy Duster blooms"? That's a mouthful for a wee flower! Pretty, though, and yes, I think that hummingbird probably knows what it's doing...although it should maybe be on the lookout for the Baja Fairy who might be dusting the bloom. :-)

I love to hear them first and then try to find them. Great shot!

Enlarging this picture was rewarding. Nice one, Sharon. Are you competing with Julie? She just finished a hummingbird series a few days ago.

Two of my favorite things: the Fairy Duster and a hummer!
