Ultra-Modern

For the last three days I’ve been showing you photos from the Indian Fair & Market that I attended on Saturday. Today I’m switching to another event that I attended on Sunday. This event is called Tour for Life and it is a tour of 9 uniquely beautiful homes that the owners have very graciously opened for participants to tour.

Pictured above is the entrance to this home, a purely modernist place that was originally built in 1979 but completely redesigned in 2009. The sidewalk leading up to the house was so white it was almost blinding. That same material was carried out to the back and around the pool making the area quite brilliant in the Arizona sun.

The smaller photo was taken from the kitchen area looking through the family room and into the back yard.
I love that fireplace that hangs from the ceiling.

Looks great. I like this the emptiness.

When I see homes like this I always think "Where's all their junk?"

A fireplace in Phoenix, ok. Interesting looking exterior.

There is something about the spartan spaces and straight lines that appeals to me. That blinding white walkway would do me in though.

It is not the style that I prefer but it is attractive in a stark kind of way. I bet the fireplace doesn't see much use. On the few days when it's cool enough to use it, you can bet it's a "no burn day".

Oh, the places you go! That is a very interesting home. Modern. Where's Rosie the Robot? :-)

Love it! You were so lucky to get inside. I often wonder where they put their stuff too.

Ocala has an annual home tour also, and we went a couple of years ago. Great fun except I wanted to buy one of the houses (which was for sale) but Lois Anne wouldn't let me. Okay, so it was a little expensive. Sheesh!

I think you'd definitely need sunglasses to live in this house! Looks tres magnifique though! I wonder how that hanging fireplace works out in real life?

I could not live in this place long... I need a place with some history... some character.

I really like the look of that! I would love to switch over to a more minimalistic look inside my home.

I admire the purity of the design, but hate the absence of liveability. I would not last one day in this house.

I just had to go back and read the newer comments since I posted mine. I think I'm soulmates with Jack and Birdman!
