Scorpion Gulch

Just as you enter South Mountain park, there are several vacant buildings in various stages of decay.  At one time this was an amusement area.  The only thing remaining from that time are the horse stables.

Glad that it can still amuse at least one photographer!

I remember the stables. Some one should restore this little building.

Neat little building with the mountain peeking up from behind.

Anyplace with "scorpion" in the name is a place Julie would avoid.

Sad face with empty eyes.

That reminds me of all the tiny scorpions we used to find in your house! Nasty little critters! And we'd also find black widow spiders in the carport and storage area. Had to be very careful where you stuck your hands!

All around our area there are deserted and crumbling buildings like this one. They make for great photos, but they are really sad, too. They represent the death of something that was at one time living and vital.

Somehow this looks like a place where scorpions would live..by the way the security word I typed in just now is "horselit"! As in horse literature perhaps
