Surveillance

If you see one of these police helicopters circling your neighborhood, it’s probably a good idea to stay indoors instead of running out to your backyard with a camera like I did.

I'd run after it with camera in hand. Nice snap of the helicopter.

Did you find out what it was surveilling?

hmmmm, i have not seen one in years., but I used to see them when i lived in Mesa. It must be based on which city police departments have such equipment

brattcat, I never heard what they were looking for. They were only there for 6 to 8 minutes.

From my office in central Phoenix I see medical helicopters landing at St. Joseph's Hospital near your house all the time.

I also cannot erase the memory of seeing the two Phoenix TV news helicopters crash in mid air, while filming a police car chase. They fell to the ground and burst into flames killing all 4 on board while I was giving a presentation to about 30 people. Everyone in the room was stunned.

Good catch...out here they're usually on their way somewhere else and going too fast to get my camera out for a shot.

... But I'm glad you did! It's a great shot of a very cool helicopter!
