End of an Era

The Biltmore Fashion Park is changing its look. The two story end of the shopping center is being taken down and it’s my understanding that for the time being, a parking structure will be built here. I heard that the original plan was to create retail space with living space above it, but the housing crisis has put a hold on those plans.  So many restaurants were located in this section and they are now gone or relocated.  Not to worry though, several new restaurants have opened in different locations within the shopping center.

Oh, too bad that the housing unit was put on hold. But am happy that the restaurants have plans to return! Our economy needs more life!!

I can't help but always have this strange feeling as to demolitions... unless, of course, the buildings are hideous.

Yikes, it's been years since I have been there. I need to get down there. I used to love going to Houlihan's for their French Onion soup, but I know that is one of the restaurants that is gone.

It's been so long since I've been there. So much is changing. It's sad to see sometimes.

That was prime retail space. Strange that another parking garage is the highest and best use for the site.

I just can't stop imagining how awful it would be to be doing that work right now in 112 degree heat. Yikes!
