Corked

About two weeks ago, I went to a wine bottling party. There is a new place in Scottsdale called The Su Vino Winery and they have put a new spin on wine tasting. Instead of swirling, sipping, and spitting (that last part is optional), you get to bottle your own wine and take it home with you. The photo to the left is of the corking machine. You set the bottle inside, close the door, and “whoosh” the air is sucked out and the cork is pushed in.

Check out their website if you are interested in more details.

We just returned from a visit to the northern California wine growing region of Alexander Valley. We got to try some old vine zinfandels. And, yes, we swirled and spit! So, how was your bottle of wine?

I bet you would never see the car you showed yesterday parked in the parking lot for the wine tasting place you showed today.

Looks like your kind of place! That spit part seems like such a waste but I guess if you tasted too many without that part it would be you who was wasted.

I've not seen one of these, but if the wine is good it seems like a great idea! So, how many bottles did you cork and take home to uncork?

I'm so wine challenged...know nothing about it except some I like and some I don't. This looks like fun though. :)
