Sunflower

I found a patch of huge sunflowers growing in the space between the sidewalk and the curb just a few short blocks from the high-rise buildings of downtown Phoenix. Look at all the patterns in this beauty.

What a beautiful shot. Love the sunlight illuminating the outer petals. Amazing that you have sunflowers. We won't have them for at least another month if not longer.

You're certainly right about the patterns. It almost looks like a kaleidoscope. This is a wonderful closeup.

The patterns are wonderful and the lighting too. These always make me smile...you can watch their faces follow the sun during the day. With our triple digits, I don't know how much longer we'll have many flowers. :(

I would be curious to see a shot with the flower in context with the city. I love the way the sun back lit the petals. Wonderful shot.

I love sunflowers! If you look at the center of this one for long enough, it appears to start moving!
