Monastery of Saint Anthony

I discovered this place quite by accident while driving around town. I saw this tiny chapel through a chain link gate. That explains that black line in the corner of this photo. I tried to take the photo through the fence but couldn’t quite get it without one of the links showing.  It appears to be a small Greek Orthadox Monastary.

The two smaller photos show the roof lines of the chapel seen over the wall that surrounded the place and the tile sign that was placed on that wall. I looked up Saint Nectarios of Pehtapolis and found this information.

Beautiful. I see the inscriptions in Russian on the plate.

Good find, Sharon.

Very pretty. We have a couple nice orthodox churches in town. I just have a point and shoot but I'm told with SLR if you shoot with the lowest possible aperture the chain links actually disappear! I know the dilemma of trying to find just the right spot to get that little lens stuck through a chain link fence. I do carry a step stool around with me, but I'll be darned if I'll start hauling a ladder!

Such a pretty building! I have been seeing some beautiful churches on my trip. I can't stop taking pictures of them!

Oh, Sharon! You definitely should try to gain entrance, preferably during a service. I'd love to be there and to see the interior.

I like the looks of this little chapel. I wonder when you might be able to go into it. I'd love to see more of this.
