Cloudless

Sunday was the last day for the butterfly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden so I went for one last look. The butterflies were very active fluttering around and landing on people and plants. This Cloudless Giant Sulfur butterfly (Phoebis sennae) found a matching hibiscus flower to settle on and almost disappear into the background.

Didn't notice the butterfly 'til you described it. The butterfly exhibits are so much fun!

Yes, I too struggled to see it. But if you click on the picture to enlarge, there he is, big as day! Great shot.

I also did not see the butterfly until I concentrated and then enlarged it. It is a perfect camouflage of color and shape.

I guess butterflies survive by being with their nature. This one certainly has its nature!

This is a superb photo...I had to enlarge the photo to see the butterfly - it was just absorbed by the flower - probably a defense mechanism...

I love the butterfly exhibit at Desert Botanical Gardens. I appreciate your shot of the butterfly hiding in plain sight. Well done.

It has been nice the last couple of days to get out and enjoy this kind of activity. I fear those days are past us now.
Great photo...he's hiding!

How amazing! You really had to point it out to us. I thought it was just a slightly fading hibiscus!
