Blast from the Past

This little historic gas station is located in Yarnell Arizona, a tiny town located atop a granite hill north west of Phoenix. When special events happen in this town, they roll out the classic cars and those parked at the gas station add to the historic aura of this place.

Don't see too many of those old gas pumps anymore. Classic car owners have a wonderful time in the summer here since there are many gatherings of them.

This image is like a ticket back to the past.

These Texaco 'counters'(?) are absolutely cool! Glad they are so well kept.

I love Yarnell. Did you by chance get to go into "The Painted Lizard"? It's a fun store.

I love the retro feel - course if was "before my time" but if still fun to see and wonder what it was like back then!

My Yarnell story: when I worked for one of the Detroit auto makers we tested the vehicles up and down the Yarnell mountain side. After being to Yarnell maybe 10 or 12 times, a friend of mine that lived down the street from me announced she was moving to Arizona. She told us to a place she fell in love with and that we've never heard of. Yarnell. So the next few years after a day of vehicle testing I had a place to stop and catch up with a friend - even though all my coworkes thought it impossible I knew someone that lived on top of that mountain!
