Pictures from Phoenix and sometimes from the surrounding cities that make up the "Valley of the Sun"
a prickly embrace.
This is unusual. I don't think I have ever seen a prickly pear growing on a saguaro. I wonder where the roots go. This is like a epiphyte growing on a jungle tree in Costa RIca.
now this is an interesting find. i have not seen this before
Nature never stops surprising me! How amazing! Great find, Sharon!
Love this one! Wonderful close-up. Is that some sort on nest within its clutches???
I have a photo of this very same thing from my brother's yard in Tucson. We're pretty sure a bird of some sort "deposited" the prickly pear seeds. Great shot.
Sharon - I found the photo. Hope you enjoy it...http://inovermyhead-magpie.blogspot.com/Have a great day!
Great close-up of both.
I've never seen that before either! Great find.
Oh, don't they make a sweet looking couple?
