Fall colors

A week ago I started noticing that a lot of trees were finally diplaying their fall colors in the Phoenix area. Here is one brilliant example.

Phoenix has a late fall, and no winter.

In the Northwest Pacific area of Costa Rica, our trees drop their leaves in December - April not because it is cold, but to conserve water in the hot dry season, with temperatures in the 80's or low 90's.

What a beautiful golden color! I always miss the fall of the Midwest, but have learned to recognize and appreciate the fall we have here in Phoenix.

It's nice that they do turn a pretty color. You would miss seeing the trees in their golden glory.

This probably happened in October in places like Minnesota... Nice color no matter how late in the season!
